Thu 6/23 4:00 PM
Public Space: Not All Land Should Be Private

Should all public space be privately owned? Libertarians have argued for private ownership and control of roads, parks, playgrounds, and waterways to minimize conflict and incentivize their productive use. On Anarchitecture Podcast, we have challenged this, arguing that an optimally free society would consist of sovereign private parcels with strong eviction rights connected by a network of public spaces (with non-governmental forms of public ownership) from which it is difficult to be evicted. Our theory presents elegant solutions for thorny issues like immigration, homeless encampments, and ending government ownership of public spaces.

Fri 6/24 5:00 PM
Building a House: Land, Budget, Design, and Construction

Thinking of building? Tim Brochu, NH licensed architect, will walk you through land selection, zoning restrictions, creating a project budget, designing, and building your dream home. We’ll also discuss alternatives like tiny homes, modular buildings, and atypical types of construction.

Fri 6/24 6:00 PM
House-Hacking: Income, Energy, Function, and Form

Make your house work for you! Generate income through short-term or long-term rental, make cost-effective energy improvements, and renovate spaces to look great and function the way you want them to. Tim will share tips for getting the most bang for your buck out of your home investments.

Plus a special presentation by Joe (live from Australia) on self-hosted open-source home automation!

Sat 6/25 10:00 AM
The State of Cities in 2022

Is it time to get out of the cities? Did COVID lockdowns and remote work gut cities of their residents and deal a death blow to their economies? We’ll discuss the prospects for housing, commerce, development, and freedom in America’s urban centers, small towns, and suburban sprawl, and highlight what this means for New Hampshire.

Sat 6/25 10:00 AM
Private Cities and Intentional Communities

Are voice and exit our only options for liberty? Or can we build new free cities from the ground up? We’ll discuss the advantages and challenges of this strategy we’ve dubbed “greenfieldism,” from ambitious private cities like Liberland, Prospera, and seasteads to self-sufficient intentional communities of cooperative homesteads. Let there be 10,000 Liechtensteins!

The Porcupine Freedom Festival is an annual liberty camping event organized by the Free State Project. This year marks the 19th PorcFest, with speakers including Dave Smith, Gene Epstein, Scott Horton, Jeffrey Tucker, and many more!

See you at PorcFest!
